Keisuke Honda move to Lazio ?

Japan national team midfielder Keisuke Honda and CSKA Moscow which is the Best Asian Player of 2011, will join the Italian club, Lazio, with the transfer of 14 million euros, according to news reported by Japanese sports dailies on Sunday (29/1).

CSKA and Lazio almost reached an agreement and will discuss details of the transfer-worth U.S. $ 18.5 million - after the Honda, 25, agreed to a contract clause with the Rome club, as reported by Sports Nippon.

Following an agreement between clubs, Honda has been doing lunch with Lazio president Claudio Lotito in Rome after flying from Barcelona, where he was undergoing rehab to cure his right knee injury, says the daily.

He is expected to soon undergo a medical examination at Lazio, possibly on Sunday, and the transfer will be formally announced as soon as possible. Lazio reportedly deliberately emptied himself a quota of non-EU players, in order to recruit the Honda, according to Sports Nippon.

Some of the great English clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa have reportedly shown interest at Honda, when he played in the Asian Cup in January last year, when Japan won the event for the fourth time.

In June, Juventus has reportedly held talks with relevant CSKA midfielder, who also was linked with Paris Saint Germain at the beginning of this month.

After four years of strengthening the Japanese club, Nagoya Grampus, and two years playing in the Dutch club, VVV Venlo, Honda joined CSKA in January 2010.

He is one of the main actors Japanese national team, when the team nicknamed the Blue Samurai reached the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
